Have you considered doing mini-tournaments and streaming them? You have a huge platform on Twitch, you could practise commentating while doing it, and you could and it would be very interesting for decent-level EU players to participate to get their name out

1. the online sucks 2. when you spectate matches in arenas, it acts as if youre also playing, so spectating matches adds even more lag I had big plans to do this but the game is too bad.

Oof. I mean the online sucking that badly apparently is just horrible. In the same way that NA LoL pros have to play on 50 ping vs Korean pros on 6-8, it leads to lower level of play. I really don't get why Nintendo doesn't care enough about this, but it's Nintendo I guess

it's so much incredibly worse than that too in terms of lag. playing with someone in the same region is akin to playing on na from euw

yeah even with 1 ping connection the game treats it as if you have ~120ping lol.

Okay, but let's try to find a fix. Bad Online + Bad Local Scene -> Players can't compete/arent really interested Bad Online + Good Local Scene -> Players can compete occassionally on a high level & are incentivised to train The issue that EU Smash always had is that "locals"

aren't really a thing in EU, we always had LAN-Parties instead. That's why EU is traditionally better at CS, whereas NA is better at FGCs/Smash. But if you can incentivise more EU locals happening, you could also cash-in on national rivalries between countries

I can't run weekly locals with how much im traveling, and I cant force those people to practice and take it seriously. The ultimate community in general is not very driven and seems like a lot of people are more interested in hanging out and "doing their best" than improving.

That I totally get, but if you and other EU pros come together and promote a tournament series where at the end you could fight the "Elite Four of EU"? You'd only have to put your name up until then, and in the final tournament the system will have bred valuable competition

then someone else would have to organize.
