lmao obviously results arent everything, that was just a throwaway line,but wolf has had a TON of top players play him (tweek/leo/zackray etc + tons as a secondary) and yet they all seem to be searching for secondaries and swapping even before any of the 2 nerf patches to wolf.
I personally think wolf already lost to most top tiers (peach olimar lucina pichu inkling) while being a "good" top tier. i dont think nerfing KO power 2 patches in a row to a move that already is hard to land at high level outside of edgeguarding is the complete wrong direction.
now to inkling - the people who do play inkling do not struggle result wise, and I think inkling is a far far more degenerate/boring top tier (while also being better than wolf pre patch imo). The fact that they nerfed olimars recovery and increased his hurtbox but not inkling...
i think a game with a roster size of over 70, a character can still be overpowered while having a few bad/weaker matchups.
Maybe they looked for another secondary because most top players know how to play against wolf? Just wondering if this would be a possibility of why they would switch wolf out
