I personally love swiss waterfall and round robin type for tournaments, as long as it doesn't screw over top competitors really hard. Fun to see SNS experiment!

IMO it's more about players not wanting to be at an unfair advantage when they run into a floated player. It's not easy to play melee all day or at 10am day 1 so floating seems like a huge advantage in terms of fatigue. This doesnt apply to Summit since it's an invitational.
It does apply to summit lol, campagining and attending qualifiers is way more exhauasting than r1 pools lmao, and u wouldnt play floated players same day as pools anyway.

Fair points, still think its advantageous to get floated but I see an urgent need to provide more incentives for top players with sub loss becoming so huge, so maybe floating is the best way. Better pots would be great (I'd pay more venue fine) but that might chase away newcomets
