Curious to see if @TempoAxe will get the seeding he deserves going forward
Bottom line is he's been playing at a top 2-3 level this year
Give the rat some respect #yearOfTheRat

seeding needs to be standardized a bit for sure, whether or not Smash Summit 7 is counter affects me/plup/axe a lot and I feel like its 50/50 how far back people look for tournaments.

yea I'd lean towards no (Summit was more than 6 months ago) but there haven't been that many tournaments this year so far so I can see the argument to counting it

Yeah, problem is a lot of people will very often count early 2019 tournaments for mid/late 2019 tournaments that are more than 6 months ago - and I personally think the small number of stacked majors should have an effect on it too.

like you can't tell me that Plup's genesis win wasn't counted at all for Evo 2018/smashcon etc

In ideal cases, I like to use a 2-3 month period to evaluate performances, but the Winter/Spring season rarely has points of comparison, so I think as much as 5-6 months in these cases is a somewhat necessary compromise. =/

Wouldn’t it make more sense to use a more consistent metric such as “seeding is based on the past x majors, majors defined as y # of ranked players attending”?

I agree this is the ideal way
