Have you guys considered looking at professional Tennis? It has similar no mid-match coaching rules. They have made it work for many many years.

Uhh, tennis has no coaching, but it has "coaching" Williams/Osaka episode aside, tons of coaches have hand gestures or signals for the players to look for. Smash would learn.

Smash like any other Esport has to learn to adapt professionally. If hecklers are a problem, then provide headset usage and force the players to use them. If not, then players have to get used crowds. Imagine any other sport complaining about loud crowds
