I think it’s just that people want their name to pop up on screen while you’re streaming, so they await your return.

Genuine question: why does this happen? Do subs not realize that the streamer is just away for a bit but will eventually come back? Or does Twitch automatically take away subs when the streamer is inactive?

A lot of people sub so the streamer will notice them And during break people forget to renew subs if they have to (not permanent payment on account/twitch prime) when the streamer does it stream, I’ve accidently done that
