I still think Chrom is better than Roy. His high recovery is underrated and very hard to deal with unless you have a counter ( parry jab doesnt work for most chars ) Roy's probably better vs characters with counter, but other then that I dont see which MU's Roy does better in

The thing is, in order to punish Chroms high recovery your opponent needs to position himself first to punish him at the peak of his up b. The Chrom player can then just react to that and airdodge to the edge instead

I actually started out as a Roy main in this game and was convinced he was better than Chrom. Both of them are among my most played characters

And i think it overall becomes hard to say that chrom is better overall, as he is simply a very fragile glass canon against everyone who edgeguards him well without having the high damage/early kill power/edgeguarding like roy does

Doesn't Chrom's up-B have a lot of utility as an OOS option too? Plus, what about Chrom's ridiculous F-tilt and his ledge trapping in general? I don't completely disagree with your logic, but don't Roy and Chrom both have plenty of merit in this meta?

Chrom UP b is also good oos, but its slower and has far less active frames and no early super armor. Ledgetrapping with ftilt for chrom is very good but so it is with roy, just that the tip doesnt kill. But at kill % roy has far superior kill options anyway
