there's a list of characters and their ability to edgeguard chrom vs roy and i think generally people play chrom in matchups when edgeguarding is so good it wouldn't matter regardless
I wonder if theres a lot of matchups where ud prefer chrom over roy. Maybe lucina and inkling?

Pichu because the killing power is evenly distributed across the sword, saw a someone at a monthly gfs got the bracket reset on him but then switched off to chrom and did way better

I think Chrom works on more overall match ups, Roy would be better vs passive chracters and maybe campers while Chrom can easily beat most rushdowns and defensive characters... At least that's how I see it

Triplats work super well for Chrom. Up B platform mix ups and top plat for Up B to kill reliantly. Not to mention his Uair is super good for sharking.

i use chrom for greninja, inkling, lucina, palutena, cloud, and wolf out of the top tiers. everyone else roy seems to handle well.
