So I never used the terms "advantage state" and "disadvantage state", but I hear it all the time for Ultimate. I have an idea of what y'all mean, but does anyone have a solid definition? Examples?
just shitty generalizations from people trying to sound smart 99% of the time. Much better to say "this char is good/bad at juggling/edgeguarding/scrambling etc lol

I'm not sure what they mean by states in Ultimate but if it has any relation to positional advantage then I think it's worth making that distinction rather than say you are always in a neutral position which isn't true obviously.

From what I've gathered I think it means if you're punishing, edge-guarding, or ledge trapping, you're in advantage state. Likewise if you're having that crap done to you, you're in disadvantage state. So basically, good stuff good, bad stuff bad. Kinda dumb terminology imo.

Say what you will, but to a newbie watching their first tournament advantage state and disadvantage state are match easier terms to grasp. Not a big issue with melee since most people that watch usually also play it, but for smash 4 and ult it can come in handy

Idk i take disadvantage to mean similar to juggling. Usually if you get knocked into the air above someone
