bro 8 buffer is just console on a 120hz monitor even on a 60hz one its what, like half a frame more lag?

I would be really surprised if 60hz only added a half a frame of lag though. It feels like I’m playing in mud when if my monitor is set to 60hz

Isn't 8 buffer literally CRT, or is it slower?

According to Kadano's spreadsheet with a good gpu and a 1ms monitor 8 buffer is CRT timings. If I remember correctly.
