The idea is that when you're having more fun with the character you'll practice more because you enjoy it and you'll be burned out less often. So you'll end up with higher skill playing a character you enjoy. Maybe you can be disciplined enough not to let that stop you though idk

at the end of the day no matter what you main youre gonna be frustrated: if you lose with PT, cause the character isnt good enough. if you lose with a top tier, cause you lost with a top tier. uniqueness-popularity-peace of mind or competitive-results-pressure. go with your heart
