The gameplay is serviceable, but can get very repetitive very quick, especially for such a lengthy game. The combat had room for fun as it played similarly to Bayonetta in a sense, but there needed to be more enemy variety to take advantage of the combat system I think.
agreed. the difficulty settings, enemy and boss settings are the real problem imo, not the actual animations or weapons.
I for one have only played the porn version of the game, but I can say from what I was able to experience its definitely an instant classic, one for the ages, would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good story while watching imaginary characters fuck as you sit alone in your room

I had more fun with it when I realised that it was a Yoko Taro game with some platinum in it, instead of a Platinum game with some Yoko Taro . Focusing on the story/themes rather than the combat helped to make the game more enjoyable even tho it has some bs here and there
I agree with this, the gameplay wasn't anything groundbreaking but I think the story and atmosphere of the game was very well done, Nier was one of my favourite games to come out in 2017 and it's a shame you didn't like it but I'm glad you at least played it till the end!
9/10 times Platinum makes unbelievably quality games. This is just that 1 other time unfortunately. I enjoy the game but god damn if it doesn't have flaws.

Game made me feel nauseous. Slow camera with weird movement that keeps changing to different perspectives. Input delay on jumping and some other things. Lock on is crappy so you have to move the shit camera
