also after my tweet last night i've realized theres 2 kind of nier automata fans: -people who like the game for what it is and want other people to enjoy it but they realize that how much you like a game is subjective and the game has a lot of flaws -people who are fucking idiots
(you can consider the game a 10/10 but if you recommend it as a game with good gameplay then you are honestly stupid or dishonest).
((play the game if you think youd like the story/music/visuals is my point, do not go in expecting good gameplay despite platinum developing it!))
I would recommend it as a game that has good music, story and movement but the actual combat isnt that great sadly lol moving the androids is fun to me though
the fast movement is honestly the best part of the gameplay, i wish more games did it like this one. might honestly be enough for me to bump it another point up thinking back to it.

I actually found the gameplay really enjoyable too. If you are grinding fighting on more than 10 minutes it gets repetitive really fast but imo Nier Automata does a great job at shaking things up regularly.
I just didn't find myself doing one thing for too long. It usually goes something like: explore-fight-explore-story-fight-story-explore-fight-story-airfight-story-airfight-story-fight-explore
I mostly think of it as a game that gets recommended for its story, not its gameplay. And i have never seen anyone i respect on their opinion on games recommend it for its gameplay either
Yeah the amazing stuff is the narrative and how ending E forces the player to understand it. The gameplay is pretty good to okay action game.
