I just finished the game as well the other day on PC, I loved it. I’m a fan of hack and slashes, as well as bullet hells so the combat was right at home. I personally didn’t experience the bugs or frame drops you did, interesting so see how different our experiences can be.
I like both bullet hells and hack and slashes too, that was the problem for me - how dull and repetitive those were, falling so far short of any of the greats in those genres.
For me it felt like Bayonetta and DMC combined for the hack and slash, and I thought the bullet hell was a nice change of pace. I felt the upgrade system always kept things fresh too. To each their own I guess, I'm still glad you played it cause DAMN that story is J U I C Y
Nier:Automata’s combat is among the best in the genre. With the pods, combos, and tons of different weapon types (as well as Bayonetta developer Platinum Games), how is this game repetitive and something like DMC not? Things aren’t adding up...
