Are there any change to ledge mechanics other being able to control your char when you get trumped in ult?

Man honestly I never thought people still hated ledgehogging in 2018. I also really didnt think that ledge trumping/trapping was so well liked by many, personally ive always hated it but im gonna have to take a new look at in ultimate, idk maybe its better than I remember!

Removing ledgehogging means that recoveries without hitboxes can be viable. Trapping is better than getting back to stage for free given WiiU barely has an offstage game; it makes the ledge a legitimate bad spot to be. Trumping is a necessity of the system more than anything.

S4/ultimate ledges that are really easy to get to (large hitbox + truming) is especially good for casual play since recovering is much more of an issue and without it would lead to many feelbads. I don't see Nintendo ever going back.

The technique isn't bad in isolation, it's just that combined with magnet hands + ledge snap it basically removed the offstage game from Smash 4

I don’t like hogging in Melee as much because recoveries, in general, are a lot worse. But in Smash 4, I WISH we had ledge hogging. Too many characters get back to stage for free in that game.

IMO it's different, but not necessarily worse than ledgehogging. It was developped a lot more after you stopped S4, it became more interesting with time. Changes the dynamic of edgeguarding and ledgeguarding a lot though.
