now that youve explained it to me i see how rage and ledge trumping are in fact great mechanics, and removing tools from top tiers leaving them gutted is a great way to balance, and also smash tour is clearly far better than subspace. Thanks mr r!

I personally liked the ledge mechanics in smash 4 more yes, did you forget about MK planking for 8 minutes in Brawl? And you're right, removing tools from top tiers was a great way to balance the game, or are you implying Brawl had better balance :^)? Ok subspace was godlike

brawl is not the only smash game. 64 and melee have good ledge mechanics and the way 4 did it is way worse than those. its subjective but I dont think removing options is the way to create a good and deep competitive game. there was far more diversity in gameplay in brawls top.

melee ledge mechanics have problems but the way it improves edgeguarding without making it too good like 64 is easily the best in the series. It could def benefit from lower invincibility tho.
