I enjoyed Smash 4 a ton because the amount of characters was overwhelming and everything felt so expressive... so many characters being straight-forward with their objectives and opening up playstyle flexibility made most encounters and MUs something fresh and exciting.

Personally I value good game mechanics over novelty, but to each his own. (i am hype for ultimate because it looks far better mechanicly than 4, not cuz its new)

I mostly agree with your recent goings-on regarding Smash 4. But this is a pretty poor argument; it's entirely reasonable to enjoy one thing, and be excited for its successor. I see what you're trying to do though, but it's a very subjective argument.

If you only like smash ult over 4 cuz its new, then i am not talking about you. Im talking about the people that express frustrations over rage etc and who dislike how defensive 4 is.

Smash 4 is great, but that doesn’t mean players can’t be hyped for a new game at the same time I would say you could construe it as players getting ready for the next patch :3

I'm curious if there is anything you like about Smash 4, I think it was a decent game with huge problems, some characters were cool like Marth, Sheik and Diddy but they are overshadowed by Bayo, Rosa and ZSS. Rage is jank, but in general the game was better the most thought

Graphics and some of the char uniqueness in the dlc chars (even if they were toxic for competitive). Bayo/cloud/ryu are all really cool char designs.
