Lmao I def read the op wrong I’d fight you on the terribly written part of DITF at least in terms of character drama. They handled teenage angst/emotion ambiguity WAY better than most anime imo Macro story wise I concede though

tons of char drama points were scattered and only relevant when the plot needed it, such as the fat boi plotline and gay dude in love with mc plotline. Also ichigo goes "id rather die then let u go back to abusive relationship" and then ONE EP LATER is 100% supportive

Tbh I think you need to watch better coming of age animes if you think this one did it well. The entire main plot was not good and it was padded by terrible pointless fights backed with the worst world building
