yeah you're probably right about the uair, I shoulda said utilt, just meant you could react to him not moving as far and get a good punish, since thats the whole point of the running shine anyway. Dash 1st frame for what?

You have to aim to dash the first possible after a perfect waveshine to get the running shine. Utilt is not possible unless youre talking pivots.

You don't have to dash on the perfect frame. its easier than you're making it out to be tbh. I'll do some testing on different SDI inputs

...well if you don't then its frames lost, and you have to realize exactly what frame the dash starts (and exactly what frame you both jump cancel and wavedash) or the following inputs will be off, you will hold down too late or too early for the run cancel etc.

I have waveshine -> dash in my muscle memory down pretty tightly. All It feels like I have to do is time the shine correctly. If its the only thing that makes the combo game better I think someone will eventually be able to execute it consistently

Its literally random w polling, and staling + hitconfirming. I could easily go frame by frame on ur waveshines/wds in matches and ud realize that perfect wavedashes are WAYY rarer than u think. And thats the thing, this is rarely possible cuz stage length and theres other options

the nice thing with the running shine is because you don't need to have a perfect wavedash. I really don't think its random. I'm awful at perfect wavedashes tbh. Its effective when shining out of the corner on most stages
