Me and many others thought @SuperSmashCon not running UCF was because the event was Nintendo sponsored until we got told it wasn't
An explanation would honestly be nice to hear cause from the outside it really looks like someone decided to run Vanilla while 95% or more wants UCF

I have a hard time imagining that they willingly chose not to use UCF

That might be true but the event was not Nintendo sponsored so what other reason could it be? Every event having "consistency"? I honestly feel that the Nintendo issue needs be talked about more. Nintendo have had 15 years to support us but have done way more harm

Unless they are willing to give actual support I think we should just not have "Nintendo Sponsored" events.

The situations really aren't as similar as you make them - first off, it was just not nintendo that were against P:M - twitch and such too. Second, there was no statement saying that it was nintendo that made P:M cease to exist (even tho it was obvious, it was denied) -

Third - It's not the melee communities responsibility to abandon nintendo for another games sake, nor is it Smash 4s for Melee. If P:M continued to be developed im sure most people wouldve kept entering PM tournaments if people kept hosting them. It sucks either way tho

(and to be clear, I don't really fully agree with what armada is saying, but just comparing the 2 situations, that I dont think are very comparable at all)
