This isn’t discussed often, but TO’s improve through practice - just like players. A sponsor or new event partner doesn’t magically imbue experience. Making mistakes and reflecting on them does.

For local and international event organizers, brand new and decades old, I’ve seen this hold true. So, go to events of all sizes. Provide TO’s practice. It helps our scenes improve and grow.

I agree, and I think TOs should work on not trashing players for giving critique, and improving feedback forms. It seriously discouraged any open discourse. yes, i know that my public tweets were too harsh CEO, but the stuff I sent thru the proper feedback was still openly mocked

In smash its standard to have open feedback forms after an event, and publicize seeding early, and I really think this is somethint the FGC would benefit from.

I don’t fully agree with the seeding statement, but do agree that constructive feedback is always useful. I’m one of the guys generally requesting it.

You don't agree with doing open seeding? Why not? Right now when discussion about seeding came up people just claimed "this is not the correct seeding" (when its the bracket that matters) and so on - to avoid confusion it should be done much more clearly and earlier.

I think open seeding, as with open attendance lists, can often create negative and/or distracting talking points (about both players and events) that aren’t always warranted. This is a perspective obviously, but one I haven’t been convinced not to hold yet.
