how about some tech to hook inline to get the real number instead of the spoofed number that shows up in caller id ?

That's an approach we're considering. However, it would require us to become your phone company, and that's going to take about a million dollars to build. We're going for the 95% effective solution that can be built for 1/4 or less of the price.
