The problem with body cameras is that they are mostly used to prosecute arrestees, not cops. Cops usually can decide when to turn them on and don’t turn them on when they are violating citizen rights. If body cameras are used, police can’t control access to video.
Phoenix is the largest city in the U.S. to not have yet issued body cameras.
