Travis Lee’s posts

Sad news tonight. Travis Roy, a Mainer who inspired millions after a tragic accident in his first shift on the ice for Boston University has died. Roy, who grew up in Yarmouth and attended NYA became a driving force in raising awareness and money for paralysis causes.

Whoever posted the ad on Craig’s list selling a camel with my name and number, bravo. Severe payback is on the way.

Don't hate us for not covering your team or athlete. Why were sports fans so angry with us this fall? In this installment of Take That! A troubling trend of negative feedback directed at 'yours truly' and what I think is behind it.

If you watch one story on Twitter today.... Yarmouth's Jared Conant's been a sideline presence for the Clippers for years. The Freshman with MS got playing time last night in his wheel chair. Nice gesture by Lake Region as well.

I've been a sportscaster for 25 years and from time to time have been prone to the giggles....but it's been a while...and last night, this was a tough hole to dig my way out.

As some of you know I grew up with Travis Roy, was two year ahead of him in school. When I would see him I'd remind him he broke up a no-hitter I was working on with 2 outs in the 6th in little league.I wanted to share this from an interview we did 5 year ago,it speaks for itself

Bonny Eagle a cool way to honor Zach Maturo's reaching 1,000 point milestone. They brought back 3 of the 4 other members of the school's 1,000 point club. Ben Malloy, James Cerino and Dustin Cole (who still gets a standing O). Darby Kopp is the other member

Wonder how fast Tre Fletcher can circle the bases? The scouts found out today when he hit a bomb to center for an inside the park home run. Oh, and we had him at 15.5 seconds. @DeeringAthletic

Dear ME HS B Officials. Sometimes you just let them play. Nobody gets hurt, and it's kind of fun to watch. This would have been 6 fouls in the games I saw yesterday/Saturday.

Sportsmanship personified: A hamstring injury sidelined Gorham's Andrew Farr all track season, hoping to qualify for states he re-injured the hamstring. Rather than celebrate his own victory, Isaac Ofeilu embraced Farr & gave him a motivational talk

For anyone in a state basketball final-nobody sums up the journey better than Lake Region's Alex Langadas did last year-worth another listen

Take That! A youth hockey official working games while with Covid-19, could it become a positive for winter sports? At the least, we hope there was no transmission to players and families, but what would no transmission say about how we treat indoor sports in Maine?

Sad news in Maine college hoops. Dick Meader, who spent 44 seasons coaching college basketball in Maine (27 at umf, 17 at thomas) passed away yesterday after suffering a stroke last week. Meader retired at UMF in 2020. He won 513 games in his career.

Remember all the indignation last fall about wanting to play sports and willing to do anything to play? Well, is everyone doing everything they can to play? Seems some people have changed their tune. Take That!

Off to a hot start, is the Big Ten Freshman of the week. She's only shooting %83 from the floor in 2 games, so I guess she has some room for improvement. But the 18.5 ppg. is pretty impressive.

Ryan Flaherty former standout confirms he is taking a job w/ the Padres as quality control coordinator, ending his 8-year career in MLB. Flaherty tells me over text his job involves passing analytics information from coaches to players & some advanced scouting

I think this play here shows how much Stacen Doucette cared about football, his program and his players. The Oak Hill coach passed away this morning.
