    When we talk about abortion access in the U.S., we talk a lot about the courts and state laws and Roe v. Wade and the Hyde amendment ... but one possible barrier to access I had never thought about before was doctors.

    George Washington was not an advocate of naturally acquired immunity lolololololol

    George Washington contracted smallpox as a teenager. Why can we find no record he took the smallpox inoculation after that? He knew natural immunity acquired as a result of a prior infection of smallpox was real.

    A regular complaint, which doesn't ring any more true now than it did before: -if the court wanted the media to know more about how it operates internally it could be more transparent -if it wanted people to understand its rulings better it could engage w/ public more

    Coney Barrett is blaming the media for pushing a narrative that the court is partisan. “the media, along with hot takes on Twitter, report the results of decisions,” she says. Which she says doesn’t go far enough in describing nuances of their reasoning.

    Had the discussion with my kid about shifting his thinking away from "I wonder if that college will take me" toward "I wonder if that college will value me." It's a profound and important reframing for the college application process.

    Just heard this horrifying story from a TX clinic director: A woman with an ectopic pregnancy was turned away by her high-risk pregnancy doctor, told she can’t have an abortion after six weeks. That’s not true. SB 8 includes an exception for life-threatening conditions.

    Both Uber and Lyft now announcing they will be covering any legal fees of ridershare drivers if they were to be sued under Texas' new abortion law SB8

    Right on - drivers shouldn’t be put at risk for getting people where they want to go. Team is in too and will cover legal fees in the same way. Thanks for the push.
