It helps. It protects people from verbal abuse, and it sends a clear message to abusers that their attitudes are not acceptable in society. That’s a start. If you have other fixes, this would be a good forum for suggesting them.

I don’t mean to imply that the measures being taken are not good measures - I just had a slight moment of hopelessness that I verbalized with desperate words. I DO see the value in blocking/preventing words like that from getting out. Thanks for your kind responses. :)

Letting haters express themselves publicly doesn’t solve the problem either. They’re not here for a discussion or having their beliefs challenged and maybe learn. They have only one aim: to cause harm.
