Give everyone an Oscar and make the ceremony about an hour long.

Avoid the problem by taking the Top 5 highest grossing movies and have them automatically be the nominees. Let the box office define popularity, as money is pretty objective in this case.

Animated films should be allowed to compete. Just b/c it has it own group should not prevent it from competing elsewhere. It's an art form, not a genre which some voters forget to this day. The same could be said of any art such as the documentary, which also has rights as well.

The real answer scares the voters. It will require them to embrace animation/live-action, indie/commercial, fictional/documentary, comedy/drama, & fantasy/sci-fi. All united thru Best Picture. That's Film. We all know this. But they ignore it. The Popular Oscar = The Sneetches.pic.twitter.com/Vo6CDtS7r6

If animation can't compete elsewhere, then the Oscars should re-examine the meaning of Best Picture & rename it Best Live Action Film. But they won't. Why? Film is a universal form that unites all arts. We believe this. They know it. So as long as it's Best Picture, all may pass.pic.twitter.com/0tl8cTloBv

Fans don't make movies. The Academy is made of filmmakers. They vote for the industry they work in. How is this hard to get?
