The obvious reason: they didn’t let Andrew Yang (one of the few candidates under age 70) speak. He had the lowest speaking time of everyone on stage, despite consistently polling 6th out of the 10 and having more donors than most of them.

Without Beto, the wow factor was missing. Most of these 10 candidates are quirky at least, each with their own interesting faults. Two are very unappealing: Klobuchar and Steyer. Aside from Amy's worn out ideas, and Tom's scary ideas, their oratory repels rather than attracts
