My husband just turned 67 and he seems to be spending his senior years having to pay hundreds of $$$ in medical bill that have been piling up. We've actually had to go on a payment plan. TERRIBLE!

The ER doctor gets shocked when I transport my husband to the hospital during an episode of Tachycardia instead of calling an ambulance for $3,000 with a $350 co-pay.

The difference between their "list price" and what they are willing to accept form insurance, Medicaid and Medicare is significant. The cash payer is always grossly overcharged.

When did this change? In the old days, uninsured cash payers got a discount! Now I get 5-800 in lab charges from someone I had no idea was involved in my care. Someone found a way to take away "free" preventative health care, or alternatively, pad the bill.

Health providers should have to publish their prices (all, including special discounts offered to groups/insurance) the same way prices are listed at any retail or online store.

I’ve been saying for years the whole system is a fraud to all of us with insurance. It’s maddening that those of us with insurance have to pay for everyone that aren’t insured and will never pay their bills.
