The US Treasury doesn't need to write a check, but the Congress does allow charitable deductions for such things. That's all the US Government needs to do. Otherwise, the structure won't be rebuilt for 200 hundred years and will be some multicultural, diworsity monument.

That's their problem. We should not get involved. We have enough to deal with in the US. France has allowed their country to come to this. So be it. We have a full time job trying to prevent the same happening to our country.

There is no reason for the US to contribute to rebuilding Notre Dame. The French have allowed 875 churches to be vandalized or destroyed and have done nothing to stop it. They don't deserve something so beautiful until they can learn to protect it.

if a $$$Billion$$$ football stadium can be bilt in 2-3 yrs the cathedral can be rebuilt in 2-3 yrs,,,that is if POLITICS can be kept out,,,,,We'll see...................

This is very sad but have we lost perspective? This is a building, this is a very old building. The church is not the building. The church is you. Wherever you go you bring the church. Not the other way around. We should morn with those that morn. Servants not buildings.
