The ruling just lets you choose whether or not you want you money to go to the union. Why do Democrats hate choice?http://hermancain.com/democratic-party-chairman-scotus-took-away-rights-of-american-workers-by-not-forcing-them-to-pay-union-dues/ …

um because it's more than that and you know it. Unions collectively bargain- so all workers get the benefits of the CBA- but this ruling permits those who benefit from the union's work (negotiating a good CBA, providing representation at grievance hearings,) without paying dues.

So you're saying folks won't voluntarily pony up? Guess the services offered by the union aren't worth much then...

regardless of the quality of services, people will take advantage and not pay, it's why we have compulsory taxes to pay for police, fire, and other government services. but I know that's not a right wing talking point- so you'll pretend to not understand.

So dues to a private organization (that contributes to political organizations and candidates) is now the same thing as being forced to pay taxes for public services?

absolutely, if you take the job, knowing that a union and CBA are in place... sure. There are many places to work, not all of them, shoot most of them, don't have unions. Work somewhere else. but don't enjoy the protection of the union without paying into it.

So, if the union donates to Trump, and you're a rabid leftist, you should just "shut up and pay or get a new job." I say, you shouldn't have to pay. Because I believe in choice and free speech. ...But you do you.

yep- and you should advocate to your fellows that you think the union should donate elsewhere. Nah- it's not choice and free speech, bc you have free speech even when you pay union dues, and you have choice of work. But hey, thanks for the civil discussion, have a wonderful day!
