Something I reeeeeeeeaally don't like in the more recent Assassin's Creed games are the arbitrary level blocks to progressing with the main story. Enemy mooks, basic guards, levelling up health and damage ahead of you doesn't even make sense in in-game logic.

I didn't think the level gating was too bad in Odyssey, though I've heard it's more acutely felt in Origins. Though even in Odyssey you really noticed it if you angered one of the stronger mercenaries lol

It wasn't horrendous in Odyssey but that's partly because the world was bigger and had more regions, so it was harder to suddenly end up somewhere you just weren't levelled up to be. But it's just an unnecessary gamified concept that breaks immersion and is immensely frustrating
