"It appears that consciousness is a very rare & precious thing & we should take whatever steps we can to preserve the light of consciousness. Only now, after 4.5 billion years has that window been open. Thatās a long time to wait and it might not stay open for long.ā -

Fantastically empty words. Rarely do you see so little meaning in so many words.

'Save Earth' would suffice.
2
Isn't the 'Save Earth' actually a hidden, 'Save People' argument -- because there is no existential threat to earth as a planet

??????? this says literally nothing????
i mean obviously theres no threat to the planet as a whole its a literal rock in space
but there are still millions of species (other than homo sapiens) who would die if we dont "save the people"??

is it not better to summarise it all and say "save the earth"?
I dont really see what kind of point you're making here

Earth's been around long before we took over and will remain after we're gone as a species -- so I don't understand what we're trying to protect other than ourselves.

Why do you think weāll be gone as a species?
not really gone, just the majority of us will be dead thanks to climate change and what not according to the worst case scenario, if humanity does pull through then good for them but millions of species would still be in the grave thanks to us
I mean, survival of humans is not guaranteed. There have been dominant species before us - we have evidence of human civilizations that were once doing well and got wiped out. The earth is going to last a few billion years, not sure if humans have that much sticking power.
Because people like Musk take us for a ride for profit. More cars are not the answer, boring has been a huge failure/pipe dream and less efficient than 100 year old tech. Mars will be about 0.000000001% of the population.
