The "economic argument" about climate change action has been settled for about 15 years (hugely in favour of action). One would imagine someone so across business matters would know this

OPINION: The cost of Auckland's floods is ugly, but it is a fraction of what we are imposing on ourselves in a futile effort to turn back the tides. dlvr.it/ShxBdB

On it's 38 week, THE QUIET GIRL (AN CAÍLIN CÚIN) ended as the No 1 film in ROI Omniplex Cinemas. In addition, not only did it knock AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER out of our Top Spot, it also forced a new Stephen Spielberg film, THE FABLEMANS, into 2nd place! WOW! 👏

Now you might love the street network types highlighted as "good" and that's most certainly your right, but for density and transit, it makes productivity quite difficult. Look at the 5 min walkshed (blue) from a train stop (red) given different street patterns.

How the network affects how far one can walk in five minutes.
So Brown is either incompetent or DGAF. Or both of course.

Isn't it odd that the insurance industry takes climate change more seriously than and ! I mean, who would you trust more?

The uninsurable. NZ cliff-top and cliff-bottom properties and those with repeat flooding face huge premium hikes or no insurance at all, insurance commentators say interest.co.nz/insurance/1195

As a current Wellington bus driver: 1. I wouldn’t have signed up if someone tried to “aggressively” recruit me. 2. I’m not sure I’d keep driving if National undercuts NZ workers 3. Reorienting LGWM towards car-centric highway projects will make buses worse (it’s possible)

Replying to @ParkerRowNZ
1. Aggressively recruit drivers 2. Fix the broken immigration system 3. Get “Let’s Get Wellington Moving” out of La-La Land and focus it on getting the basics right.

Let's do this for banknotes as well! And for everything else.

#UPDATE Australia's central bank says it will erase the British monarch from its banknotes, replacing the late Queen Elizabeth II's image on its $5 note with a design honouring Indigenous culture. The decision means no British monarch will remain on Australia's paper currency

This is a good point. The new MoH can see the pressures in ED from her own personal experience.

Dr Andre Cromhout and Mark Hussey, my former colleagues, took me on through the ED. It was a pretty busy day, and even in February there were challenges admitting patients to ward beds. Everyone was working really hard and at closer quarters than when I previously worked here.

Big thanks to everyone who replied to me here (shecial s/o to ) Food for thought and the rapid shift seems to have been from external factors a lot. I'll be a gradual changer and it's time to start!

A general q- those of you who significantly changed careers, was it a sudden shift or a more gradual increase of one and decrease of the other?
