    Google accidentally put your photos into other people's backups. With end-to-end encryption, especially where end users hold the key, errors like this would result only in having an encrypted copy of a photo that you can't decrypt.

    This is an excellent example of why we need more end-to-end encryption. HTTPS and data-at-rest encryption isn't enough. I'm SURE that Google leaked this private data over HTTPS.
