I am excited to share my op-ed in the @WSJ coauthored with the amazing @FondOfBeetles. The growing trend to deny the reality of biological sex is harmful to women, the LGB community, and children. It’s time to speak out against this toxic ideology.https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-dangerous-denial-of-sex-11581638089?mod=opinion_lead_pos5 …

Out of curiosity , how does gender relate to physical sex ? For example, why do we have effeminate men and masculine women? Men who gravitate toward feminine things and vice versa? Is gender still their biological sex? (1/2)

(2/2). I guess I'm wondering about people who feel/believe they were born into the wrong body type, even from a young age. It seems there is some mental aspect that also makes one "feel" male or female.

It has to do with exposure to different levels of androgens in utero. That is responsible for the masculinization/feminization of bodies and minds to some degree. These differences are frequently a component of cross-sex identities, but aren't the whole story.

No scientific evidence of hormone exposure diff for dysphoria. Conversely, there's tons of evidence from childhood trauma/strict religious parenting, evidenced in nearly al transition blog/video ever made. The DSM diagnostic for dysphoria specifically excludes biological reasons.

No strong evidence differences in hormonal exposure cause dysphoria, but it's often part of the syndrome.

"often" ? I've read no evidence of that. The very point of a DSM diagnostic is that there is no biological involvement.

Most gender dysphoric males have feminized features, and dysphoric females have more masculinized features, indicative of differential hormone exposure. But this doesn't cause dysphoria. Mostly it just influences one's sexuality in favor of homosexual behavior.

It is not a mechanism for transgenderism in the same way it can be a mechanism for homosexuality. There's another component that makes one transgender.

Nothing "feminized", just a beast of an athlete! ;)pic.twitter.com/C8ssgiT6qt

Again, it's an average. Single instances of hyper-masculine gay males doesn't disprove the overall trend.
