The carbon tax will cost the average ON household (2.6 people) approx $244 year one. A family of 4 gets $307 back. That same family of 4 will pay roughly $380 in carbon tax, based on the figs of what the avg household of 2.6 will pay. So, how is this a win? It's a tax increase.

Cdns will be told to trust the govt as they will tell us how much the carbon tax is costing us. They’ve never lied to us before, have they?

But lower income people spend a higher proportion of their income on necessities than those that are better off, hence the definition of a tax as regressive & therefore more punitive to lower income folks.

It is broken out on my Enmax bill. The Nov carbon tax bill was 96% of the charges for energy use.

Ta dah ! My point all along. How can the feds say it’s all being rebated when they can’t even tell us how much it’s going to cost. It relies upon ignorance and apathy to succeed.

Exactly. Living by example is leadership, which these guys don’t exhibit at all. Amazing that anyone buys into their balderdash.

So nice my elder son takes charge to help out with his newborn nephew. Proud of my wonderful sons. Happy I’ve somehow managed to raise a couple of great human beings. Funny that. Who would have thunk it?

Those figures are from the GoC website. They only take into account gasoline and heating fuels. They don’t take into account production costs passed on to the consumer. 8 in 10 families will not get back more than they pay.

I’ve seen many different estimates as to cost of the carbon tax. And we have no idea how this supposed “rebate” will work. My question is how will anyone know how much they have paid in carbon tax & whether the rebate will reimburse them? They won’t. Govt smoke & mirrors.

Nope you nailed it. I love how people are actually shocked to hear that the Liberals could possibly pi** away $4.5 billion of taxpayers' money to make a political problem go away. Dude needs to read some Canadian history.

History will prove this to be an utter disaster IMO. As this Lib govt will be. What a mess we are in, sadly.

Never attribute the Liberals actions to incompetence when intentional and with malice really explains them.

Can’t ever say the climate alarmists were honest. They were always happy to advise others to curtail their lifestyle, while they lived high on the hog & consumed lots of carbon in the process. Hypocrites all. Shame on them.

I would prefer to think that people just don’t have enough information on this yet. And we should all try to fix that. As best we can.
