I'm proud to announce the product of many busy days and sleepless nights: "A Companion for SwiftUI" is a quick dynamic reference guide. It goes straight to the point, unlike my blog articles, which are more in-depth discussions.

It was a year of great fun! I'm already looking forward to the next iteration of SwiftUI! Happy New Year!

Do you wonder what is EquatableView and the .equatable() modifier in SwiftUI? This new (and short) article explains it all: Enjoy!

For those who did (or will) venture into using AnimatableModifier, I updated the article. Scroll to the end, and check: "Dancing With Versions". Some combinations of Xcode and macOS/iOS will produce a crash on deployed applications (although not during development) 😱

Thanks for the commendation! 😀 And congratulations to all the winners! 🥳

I've been told some employers do not allow App Store purchases, so now the Companion app is available outside the app store too. Also, in some countries, I managed to include VAT tax, so it may be cheaper than buying from Apple's App Store 👍.

Fresh article out: .id(): What is it good for? We'll see how we can apply this simple but elusive method, and we'll explore some uses, among them, how to get better performance out of the List view.

Thanks a lot Scott for inviting me to take part of your podcast. I had a great time chatting about with you! Cheers!

I just posted a new article about "Safely Updating the View State" in SwiftUI. It includes tips on how to avoid invalidation loops that may trigger CPU spikes, runtime errors or even crashes.

A new "Companion for SwiftUI" version is out. More content added, and a new sidebar that makes navigation easier. Check "What's New" in the attached screenshot. Time to go back to work on the next blog post. I hope to have it ready in a couple of days.🤞

Since at least Xcode 11.2, transitions no longer work with implicit animations (which I think it's a good thing). I updated the "Advanced SwiftUI Transitions" article to reflect that. 😃

I'm back with a new article about custom styles in . I cover the basics, but also how we can play nice when inside a Form, the importance of the activation point, and how to use the same styling pattern on our own custom views.

New article out. This time: frame(). Seriously. 🤔 I know it's not as glamorous as animations, but every view has a frame. Understanding it fully is essential. I explore why some views like to expand, others shrink, priorities and more.

This week's topic will be all about Advanced SwiftUI Transitions. It'll be ready on Wednesday. Here's a preview of some standard transitions (.opacity, .scale), and some of my own (.circular, .rectangular, .stripes). But there'll be more! 😉

Confused with this picture? Alignment guides in SwiftUI are a simple concept, but sometimes their behavior may be puzzling. My upcoming article will dive into it. There is a lot to be said about alignment guides!

SwiftUI has a pretty nice Accessibility API. For example, you can easily change the order of elements in Accessibility tree by using dedicated modifier. To learn more about Accessibility in SwiftUI check my dedicated post.
