Cutting off infant foreskin is barbaric, but no one deserves to be executed at these events. Welcome to Trump's America, where he's Making Aryans Gallingly Ascendant. #MAGA

Not all bris includes circumcision. There's a ceremonial bris that doesn't require it and a lot of parents are choosing that option for their children now. I'm not going to jump to conclusions about which ceremony was being practiced here.

I've never heard of a nonviolent circumcision and will happily research that. But I'd bet money that a ceremony at a Conservative shul is cutting that foreskin off.

It's like you didnt read anything I said. Not all bris includes circumcision. Read it again. Some parents opt for a hospital circumcision and an increasing number of parents are opting for keeping their children intact and just doing a ceremonial bris.

Hello, I read it. If they got it done in the hospital, that's no less barbaric, to my raised-Jewish mind. Come down off your high horse. We do routine violence to babies for no good medical reason. It's shameful. A shonda.

Nope. Just woke. And I'm unmoved by AIPAC talking point tropes. Feel free to unfollow me if that hurts.

You give me permission to unfollow? You find a thousands of years ceremony , one filled with love and pride, violent? There is a judgement. Cultures all over the world have different kinds of ceremonies that YOU would deem violent. And you would not hurt a fly.

I don't support any religion that forces behaviors, limits speech, or does violence to bodies. Bringing in other religions is a debate fallacy, a tactic that does nil to forward your argument. "But what about..." and "So you must also think..." Do you have an argument to make?

But to answer your question, yes, I do find cutting off ultra-sensitive skin on the male sex organ to be barbaric. It took me a long time to come to that conclusion, as it has with many fellow Jews who also do not hate themselves. So what, it's an ancient ritual? ...

... Cutting clitorises goes far back, too. Female infibulation is abhorrent to you, I'm sure. But circumcision cuts way down on the man's sexual pleasure too. Beware of hypocrisy. It's an equal opportunity virus.

Cuts "way down" on pleasure. Where's the scale? What function is lost? Not the same as female AT ALL. That is designed for DEPRIVING PLEASURE. Know what you speak of.

Um... I do. I think we're done here, as you're getting screechy with me. I was screechy too, before I gave it deep thought and research for a couple of years. Peace. We're on the same side, in the end, but clearly the chip on your shoulder is too heavy for you to engage on this.
