I have four parents, all over the age of 75. Randomly, three of them, in two different cities, got their first dose of COVID vaccine today. My father who has NOT received a vaccine is my parent at highest risk. He is incarcerated.

Honestly those vaccines need to go to the elderly who’ve led a good, honest life before they go to anyone who’s committed multiple felonies or murders. I’m glad your dad is waiting in line.

So many people are sitting jail who have not been convicted of anything, they are just awaiting trial and can’t afford bail. Also people go to jail for possession, not everyone who is incarcerated is a murderer. This is the ignorance that strips American citizens of their rights

This discussion is about prisons, not jails

They are treated the same. And in lots of local communities, they are exactly the same. People in prison are still people. Some are oversentenced and wrongly convicted. There is nothing done to rehabilitate these humans, prison is merely punitive and cruel. They’re still people.
