    If you executed it flawlessly, then everything stayed the same. Any mistake brought negative attention to you. So the best-case scenario was it ONLY being a time-sink.

    Just got a "Dump-on, ahoy!" alert. The phrase was from my navy days, to signify a collateral duty that had only (or mostly) negative aspects. Not glamorous, no percs associated with it.

    The article also mentions cordierite and tourmaline, but when I looked on Amazon, these appeared to be opaque. At least the samples for sale were (which were invariably for new-age crap, or decorative. Not for Science!™)

    I had heard about sunstones before, but this one prompted a purchase. We have a "bring your kid to work day" lined up in a few weeks, so a birefringent crystal is a good addition.
