Prosecutors have to decide if/how to prosecute police officers. How can the public trust those decisions when those prosecutors also take money from police unions?

if you don't have a self imposed moral compass that ensures public you won't be persuaded by politics of those who contributed to your campaign, then you shouldn't take any contributions, self-fund. That's only way to ensure you avoid your own inability to know right from wrong.
