Jeannette Rankin (1880-1972) became the 1st women Member of the U.S. House of Representatives on April 2, 1917 #WomensHistoryMonth
Rankin served in the 65th & 77th Congress. She was the only Member to vote against U.S. participation in both WWI & WWII.
