Today, I voted to strengthen border security, provide relief to communities & keep the government open. It is government’s job to work together to fund the government & I hope my colleagues in the Senate vote on behalf of the American people to avoid a government shutdown. Avoiding a government shutdown is good. Bowing to a president asking you to spend my tax dollars on a reality show stunt to fuel his re-election campaign is not. But it’s what you did. Standing with him over us, your constituents? Sounds like we need a new representative…

No. You voted to waste $5 billion on a useless and pointless monument to Trump’s racism. If you want to strengthen border security, then use some of that money for more immigration judges and border patrol agents. Not a single Senator voted to do this. Appalling and shameful

If the government shuts down, it will be the fault of Trump and his supporters like you who lack a moral compass to do the right thing. I voted Democratic for the first time in my 72 years in hopes that politicians like you who put party before country will be replaced.

This is why your party is moving to the minority in the House of Representatives and why you are no longer chair of the Ethics committee. You want to spend your money on racism and demagoguery, there's a gofundme page for the wall; don't pretend you're spending our interest #IN05

But Mexico was going to pay for it? U actually voted for a shutdown. Spin it how u like, but you could have taken the Senates deal &moved on. But you have no guts &will never speak out against the temper tantrum in the white house. (Lower case till someone with honor is in there)

Really, a wall? How will a wall increase boarder security? Why don't you look into building a most and fill it with crocodiles?

Where did you find the $5 billion? Adding it to the $200 billion our country borrowed in Oct and Nov? How many American lives could be changed for $5 billion? College scholarships, school improvements, heating bills paid, bellies filled, and so much more. Coward decision.
