By passing the Congressional Accountability Act of 1995 Reform Act (#CAARA), Congress is working to ensure all employees have a safe workplace environment where allegations of wrongdoings are investigated in a swifter, fairer & more efficient manner.
I am pleased we have made much-needed improvements to the way Congress combats & responds to sexual harassment & retaliation in the House & Senate. Importantly, this bill guarantees taxpayer dollars will no longer be spent to settle sexual harassment or retaliation claims.
While our work is not done, this is an important step to make lasting changes to improve accountability & transparency in Congress.
