✅ TO THE HOUSE FLOOR: @HouseCommerce voted to send our nation's most important #publichealth emergency preparedness & response tool to the House floor for consideration by the full House of Representatives. My remarks explaining #PAHPA's importance >> https://susanwbrooks.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/to-the-house-floor-brooks-eshoo-legislation-to-combat-biodefense-threats …pic.twitter.com/iiIxvhs4PE

This bipartisan #publichealth & #nationalsecurity effort will ensure our nation is better prepared to respond to natural disasters, emerging infectious diseases, & chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear attacks whether from terrorist groups or from nation states.

To ensure we're better prepared when facing an outbreak like Zika or Ebola, #PAHPA improves the existing Emergency Response Fund so the Secretary doesn't have to wait on approval from Congress to immediately fund the response measures needed to counteract an outbreak & save lives

#PAHPA ensures more #heathcare professionals like nurses/doctors can be hired/trained when facing a #publichealth crisis. It ensures we have a robust supply of vaccines, equipment like gloves, hazmat suits, masks etc in our Strategic National Stockpiles located across the country

I'd like to thank @RepAnnaEshoo & my colleagues at @HouseCommerce for their attention to this issue. I cannot emphasize enough how critically important it is to reauthorize #PAHPA before it expires at the end of September.

You’ve voted to rip healthcare away from millions. I’ll be voting for Dee Thornton in November, a candidate who will actually help improve healthcare for everyone.

Someone sent you an envelope with flour in it and inspired you to present a bill that protects yourself and puts money in your friends pocket. You’re a real hero.

There are 3,000 children still separated from their parents with no medical treatment. We're *creating* public health issues and grounds for infectious diseases. What are you doing about it?
