Due to the nature of this incident, the road will need to remain closed for several hours more while vital evidence is secured and the road made safe for onward travel. Highways are working to turn standstill traffic around and divert it off the carriageway as soon as possible.

The 45-year-old driver and a 13-year-old passenger were treated for minor injuries, and an 11-year-old child has been taken to hospital with very serious injuries.
