Perhaps you could help by mandating PDMP's, and provide funding dependent on states sharing data with neighboring states. I live in Missouri and have no way to check a patient's opiate history. We get people from KS and Illinois who come specifically to obtain and abuse opiates.
I implore you all to think about prevention. Increase the use of PDMPs by pharmacists, physicians, and other providers. Make sure patients know how to safely monitor, store, and dispose of their unused #opioid painkillers. #VitalSigns @cdcgov
