1/5 A word on #coronavirus testing: Diagnostic testing has moved more rapidly than ANY previous test for a new virus. @CDCgov developed the molecular diagnostic test in the U.S. in a week- while also working to make capability available at state public health departments...

2/5 The current state of diagnostic testing for #Coronavirus is expanding rapidly/ widely- all 50 states now have testing capability. This will support the ability for practitioners to diagnose #COVID19 as community transmission occurs in some areas at this phase of the epidemic.

3/5 In addition to state public health labs, testing will soon be available at many academic medical centers & private sector. @US_FDA has facilitated use of these tests in patients by an Emergency Use Authorization. @CMSGov has created new coding to facilitate reimbursement.

4/5 I understand the public’s concern. The entire response will be looked at for lessons learned- but now we must focus on the task at hand. Many good people are working 24/7 to ensure the American public will have the ability to get a #coronavirus test if your doctor orders it!

5/5 in the interim, please remember- the best way to stop the spread of #coronavirus is with good face, hand and respiratory hygiene. 🙏🏽 Let’s all work together, and prepare vs panic to prevent community spread of #covid19.

Thanks for the update doc. You have to understand how silly this looks to average citizens who can understand how the rest of the world can test everyone with an symptoms and America can only test people on their deathbed.

I’m sorry but there’s no excuse for this. Why can other countries test and we can’t? We’ve had the same amount of time to develop a test. Why not use WHO’s test when ours failed?! Wtf are you doing?!?!

Already talking about reviewing the response. It's a tacit admission they screwed the pooch & are preparing to defend/hide their incompetence. This is the same movie we've all have seen from the fed'l govt for decades. #WuhanCoronavirus #COVID19 @realDonaldTrump @PressSec

Actually my biggest concerns aren't a virus, it's that our government officials undermined gov preparedness, continues to lie/distract Americans from factual info, and, I assume from past behavior, are profiting from the whole scheme.
