Do you understand exponential growth? Do you understand fat tail risk? Are you aware of the situation in Italy and Japan? Today’s numbers are not what we need to be worried about, it’s 2 weeks from now. This is a shamefully misleading tweet and will not age well.

I'm surprised to hear this comparison from the Surgeon General. Yes, COVID-19 cases are low bc this is the start of the pandemic and there are widespread testing kit shortages. The real concern is the CFR, which is 0.1% for the seasonal flu but may be as high as 3.4% for COVID-19
-
This means that if COVID-19 becomes as widespread in the population as seasonal flu, we will see many times the number of deaths.

Reminds me of that fella back home who fell off a ten-story building. As he was falling, people on each floor kept hearing him say, "So far, so good."https://youtu.be/V7GP3l5znc8

If we refuse to test unless they are about ready to go in the hospital, how can we know true numbers? Why do doctors have to beg for tests? We should be testing everyone and have a separate, easily disinfected place for those to be tested. We put everyone at risk by not do so.

I’m washing my hands often, coughing and sneezing into my elbow, and having less contact. If it’s good enough for
#COVID19 then I’ll take my chances your provided steps are good enough for the flu. -
